Needless to say the food was outstanding, but the company and conversation much better.
We hit great food and beer spots
This beer garden had excellent sausages not to mention beer. And of course the company was the best.
We cooked and ate ourselfs into a frenzy. Starting with a pork shoulder in mojo and multiple sides
We planned on some well dressed burgers and hot dogs after the beach...
but had to add something a little more exciting into the mix
Not to be oudone, my daughter caught and helped to eat a local clam, which cooked with the lobster.
Overall an outstanding trip where we made new friends and hope to get together again!
The corn is actually a popcorn variety, from Southern Seed Exchange.
Actually we bought the kid friendly starter pack.
It also included the ornamental gourd seen above, as well as some sorghum.
We are excited, but clearly we may not get anything to harvest as it is already late august.
Having said that the figs... after three years of disappointment are finally coming into their own. I ate a small one this morning and it was glorious, sweet and full of flavour.
Now we need the dog to keep the critters out for further harvest!

I chopped some frozen scallop, some left over beef, onion, green onion and garlic
I made some chilli paste with dried red pepper powder, sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic and sesame oil.
I stir fried all the ingredients
The soba boiled in some chicken stock which then went into the soup as the broth.
It could have used some more leafy vegetables, but I didn't have any. Tasted great though.
